My Keto Story

In 2020, at 42, I felt stuck. Despite trying diet after diet, I couldn't lose the weight I'd gained over the years, and my energy was constantly crashing. A friend mentioned keto, but when I started researching, I was overwhelmed by conflicting information.

One "expert" said I needed expensive MCT oils and exogenous ketones. Another insisted I had to track every macro to the gram. A third warned me my kidneys would fail if I ate too much protein. I spent more money on supplements in my first month than I did on actual food.

The turning point came when I simplified everything. I threw out the expensive supplements, stopped obsessing over perfect macros, and focused on real food and basic principles. That's when keto actually started working.

Over the next 18 months, I lost 45 pounds and gained more energy than I'd had in years. But more importantly, I learned what actually matters for keto success—and what's just marketing hype.
